1.7 trillion riyals…the reserve assets of the Saudi Central Bank by the end of 2025


The reserve assets of the Central Bank of Saudi Arabia recorded an annual growth rate of (5.3%) by the end of the year (2025), with an increase estimated at (86.3) billion riyals, bringing their total to about (1.73) trillion riyals, compared to about (1.64) trillion riyals during the corresponding period of the year (2024).

The data of the monthly statistical bulletin of the Saudi Central Bank for the month of December showed that the levels of reserve assets during the year (2025 AD) reached its highest levels at the end of November at about (1.74) trillion riyals.

The data showed that reserve assets registered a quarterly growth at the end of the fourth quarter of the year (2025 AD) by an estimated rate of (2.2%), and an increase amounting to about (36.4) billion riyals, compared to the end of the third quarter of the same year, during which they reached about (1.69) trillion riyals.

The data showed that the five components of reserve assets The main clause is headed by a clause "Investments in securities abroad" With a value exceeding (1.01) trillion riyals by the end of the year (2025 AD), constituting about (58.6%) of the total, followed by the item "Foreign exchange and deposits abroad" With a value exceeding (619.1) billion riyals, at a rate of (35.9%) of the total.

The item came in third place. "Special drawing rights" With a value exceeding (80.5) billion riyals, at an estimated rate of (4.7%) of the total, then item "Reserve position with the International Monetary Fund" With a value amounting to about (12.9) billion riyals, with an estimated rate of (0.7%), and finally an item "Monetary gold" With a value amounting to (1.6) billion riyals, at an estimated rate of (0.1%) of the total reserve assets by the end of the year (2025 AD).
