Jumana Murad explains the reasons for the distinction of her role in The Color Blue

Jumana was able to convey a poignant picture of a state of “emotional exhaustion,” through the character’s suffering with her child’s autism, and the harsh pressures that accompany it, most notably the refusal of many schools to receive him, in addition to professional challenges and the necessity of maintaining her source of income at a sensitive stage in her life.
Jomana confirmed that “the state of love and warmth that she shared with the child, Ali Al-Sukkari, who embodied the character of her son in the work, had a magical effect on the series as a whole and gave the dramatic story great credibility, as the audience began to think that Al-Sukkari was her real son.”
She pointed out in media statements that “Al-Sukari and her real children developed a friendship and exchanged gifts, which made her maternal feelings towards him in front of the camera appear spontaneous, very sincere and spontaneous.”
The events of the series revolved around “Amna” and her husband, “Adham,” who return from abroad to Egypt after the end of the husband’s work contract, to begin an arduous journey in treating their son, “Hamza,” amid psychological and social crises and recurring nightmares that forcefully attack her, in addition to concerns about her child’s future in society.
The story, written by Maryam Naoum, and directed by Saad Hindawi, was distinguished by the brilliant presentation of the details of the disease, while shedding light realistically on monitoring the psychological and professional pressures that the mother suffers from, especially with her loss of her job, and the emergence of indicators about her imminent departure from life, which creates in her an existential fear of leaving her child alone in a society that does not understand the medical sensitivity of its situation.
Egyptian artist Ahmed Rizk presented the character of “Adham”, Amna’s husband, with remarkable skill and a clear ability to embody the crisis of a father torn between his intense grief for his young child, and his overwhelming desire to regain his previous professional successes as a talented construction engineer.
The cast also included a number of names with a long history in the field of social psychological drama, such as: Ahmed Badir, Kamal Abu Rayya, Naglaa Badr, and Hanan Suleiman. (Arm News)
