“Police Your Neighbor” volunteers hand over 279 license plates lost during the rain

49 volunteers from the “Policeman Your Neighbor” initiative participated in supporting community members during the weather depression, by being present in 77 locations in various areas in Dubai, where they were able to deliver 279 missing car license plates to police stations, and contribute to removing 30 vehicles that had broken down due to puddles of water.

The volunteers’ participation came as part of intensive field efforts to support the main work teams, as they provided assistance in residential areas and Al Furjan, by withdrawing water, providing awareness, and supporting owners of broken down vehicles, in addition to collecting license plates of vehicles that had been washed away by the water and delivering them to police stations.

The volunteers’ efforts included several areas, including Al Qusais, Bur Dubai, Al Muraqqabat, Al Barsha, and Al Rashidiya, where they also contributed to monitoring water accumulations and communicating with Dubai Municipality, thus enhancing the speed of response and raising the level of public safety.

The “Policeman Your Neighbor” initiative is one of the initiatives of the Community Police Department in the General Department of Community Happiness at Dubai Police, which aims to strengthen the partnership between the police and society, and activate the role of individuals in supporting security and safety.

For his part, Director of the General Department of Community Happiness at Dubai Police, Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, praised the efforts of volunteers during the depression, stressing that what they provided reflects the spirit of social responsibility and integration between government agencies and community members.

He pointed out that volunteers played an important role in mitigating the effects of the weather condition, through their field presence and direct communication with residents, and providing immediate support in emergency situations.
This active presence of “Policeman Your Neighbor” volunteers reflects a practical model of community cooperation, as the role of the initiative is not limited to awareness-raising, but extends to positive intervention and actual support in times of crisis.
