Azerbaijani "Asaph" And the Russian "Mogamed" Champion of the international version of "Emirates warriors"

Abu Dhabi, 29 March / WAM / Azerbaijani Asaf Sharapov maintained his title in the 69th international edition of the “Emirates Warriors” Mixed Martial Arts Championship, after his victory yesterday over Brazilian Adriano Ramos in the “bantamweight” by submission, during the championship bouts that were held in Al Khabisi Hall in Al Ain Convention Center “ADNEC”.

Russian Mogamed Tokalov also won the “light heavyweight” edition title after defeating Brazilian Caio Machado by knockout.

Champion Assaf was able to maintain the title he won in the 64th edition of the tournament.

The champions were crowned by His Excellency Abdul Moneim Al Hashemi, President of the Emirati and Asian Jiu-Jitsu Federations and First Vice President of the International Federation, in the presence of His Excellency Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Member of the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Chairman of the Mixed Martial Arts Committee, and Fouad Darwish, CEO of Palms Sports Company, Chairman of the Organizing Committee.

The evening witnessed 10 strong fights, the most prominent of which was the victory of the rising Brazilian Alex da Silva over the Russian Arbi Mezhdov by submission in the 67 kg weight, and in the women’s fight, the Azerbaijani Farida Abdoyev was able to defeat the Brazilian Fernanda Silva by unanimous decision of the judges in the straw weight.

For his part, the Azerbaijani champion Asaf expressed his happiness in retaining the title of the international version, stressing that this coronation was not easy in front of a strong opponent, thanking those in charge of the tournament, pointing out that this international platform completely changed his life, and gave him a great opportunity for further brilliance and success.

Fouad Darwish confirmed that the 69th international edition of “Emirates Warriors” met expectations, in terms of the strength of the fights and the large public presence that interacted with the event from the beginning until the last minute.
