The brutal Iranian aggression is a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the Gulf states and a violation of international law

Today, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs, reaffirmed the State of Kuwait’s condemnation and denunciation in the strongest terms of the brutal Iranian aggression against the countries of the region and the systematic targeting launched from Iranian territory on the State of Kuwait in a blatant violation of its sovereignty and a violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the Charter of the United Nations.
The Kuwaiti News Agency quoted Sheikh Jarrah Al-Sabah as saying in a speech during the meeting of the 165th regular session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, which was held via video call “remotely,” that the brutal Iranian aggression caused the death of martyrs, the fall of the wounded, the exposing of citizens, residents, and residential neighborhoods to danger, and the destruction of vital civilian facilities and structures.
He pointed to the expansion of the scope of Iranian aggression through attacks launched by factions and militias loyal to Iran, using missiles and drones, on the State of Kuwait and a number of Arab countries, in addition to attempts to destabilize internal security through terrorist cells linked to the terrorist Hezbollah and Iran.
He stressed that these Iranian practices remain a blatant violation of international law and blatant aggression that cannot be justified, no matter how Iran and its arms try to legitimize their barbaric attacks by employing misleading rhetoric and systematic attempts to obscure the facts, falsify the facts, and invoke flimsy pretexts.
He stressed that what we are witnessing today is not just a passing escalation, but rather a systematic pattern of regional destabilization led by Iran, based on using chaos and terrorism as tools of influence, which requires a firm international stance and deterrent measures to ensure the protection of international peace and security.
He said that successive experiences revealed the limited effectiveness of the joint Arab action system within the framework of the League of Arab States, which calls for a frank and responsible review. The League of Arab States, despite its symbolic status, has proven a clear inability to keep pace with the accelerating challenges and to play an influential role in maintaining Arab security.
Sheikh Jarrah Al-Sabah stressed the urgent need for a comprehensive restructuring that enhances the efficiency of decision-making mechanisms and establishes more effective and responsive executive tools commensurate with the complexities of the stage.
He said: It is unfortunate that this shortcoming comes at a time when the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council have spared no effort in supporting the issues of the Arab and Islamic nation politically and economically, as they were and still are at the forefront of supporting stability and development and keen on the unity of the Arab ranks, which doubles the responsibility of developing the Arab institutional framework to keep pace with these efforts and translate them into tangible results.
He stressed the importance of the participation of the countries of the region in any future negotiating path with Iran to crystallize perceptions related to achieving the security and stability of the region, especially the countries that suffer directly from Iran’s aggressive behavior towards their regional surroundings.
