Sibur said in a post on social media: "Two people died as a result of the accident at the Nizhnekamsk Neftekhim plant, and eight people were taken to hospital".
She added: "The fire, which was caused by an equipment malfunction, has been contained". She explained that "Another 64 people received treatment for minor injuries"
Sibur confirmed that there are no hazardous emissions that threaten public health, and it continues to monitor air quality.

The mayor of Nizhnekamsk, Radmir Belyaev, said that the explosion caused the windows of some buildings in the city to shatter.
Undocumented video clips on social media showed a huge cloud of thick black smoke rising from the factory, with a fireball appearing at its base.
