Rain continues today with a gradual drop in temperatures

Yesterday, various areas of the country witnessed light to moderate, and sometimes heavy, rain in some eastern and northern regions, and it continues today, with a gradual drop in temperatures, especially in the west.

The National Center of Meteorology said that the country is currently affected by a light weather condition as a result of the passage of an extension of an air depression, accompanied by clouds moving from west to east, while it is expected that exciting winds will activate dust and dust.

Tomorrow’s weather is expected to be fair to partly cloudy at times, and some low clouds will appear over some eastern regions, and humid at night and Friday morning, with the possibility of mist or light mist forming, while temperatures will begin to gradually rise next Saturday.

For its part, Abu Dhabi Police activated a system to reduce speeds to 100 kilometers and 80 kilometers per hour on a number of main roads, calling at the same time on drivers to be careful, due to rainy weather conditions, and to adhere to the variable speed shown on the signs and electronic information boards.

In a related context, the Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police implemented a field awareness initiative targeting motorcycle users and those working in the field of delivering orders in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, as part of its continuous keenness to enhance traffic safety and protect lives and property, and within the strategic priority of “smart road security”, coinciding with the weather fluctuations and rainfall that the country is witnessing.

Director of the Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate, Brigadier General Mahmoud Yousef Al Balushi, said that the initiative focused on educating motorcyclists of all categories, and urging them to adhere to traffic laws and safety requirements.

He stressed the importance of increasing caution while driving in rainy weather, due to the decrease in visibility and the increased possibility of slipping, pointing out the need to adhere to preventive measures that contribute to reducing accidents and injuries, and enhance the level of safety and security on the roads.

He explained that Abu Dhabi Police continues its efforts to spread traffic culture, by reaching the largest segment of road users, and providing direct awareness messages that contribute to raising the level of awareness, especially in changing weather conditions, in a way that supports achieving its strategic goals in making the emirate one of the safest cities in the world.
