The administrations explained in letters addressed to parents and students, and Emirates Today reviewed their details, that links to classes will not be sent through the “Telegram” application, for regulatory reasons related to controlling access to classes, protecting the virtual learning environment from any unauthorized use, and preventing the entry of uninvolved parties that may affect the conduct of the educational class.

Schools confirmed that access to virtual classes will be done through two approved methods, the first through a platform Microsoft Teams Where the teacher publishes the class link in the class’s channel chat directly when the class starts, and the second through the smart learning portal (LMS) through specific steps that include entering the portal, then selecting the list of applications, and moving to Microsoft TeamsThen choose the row and its channel.

Direct responsibility

The schools stressed a set of controls governing distance learning, the most prominent of which is that the student’s attendance at the virtual class is a direct responsibility that falls on him, and attendance and absence are calculated based on his actual entry and participation at the specified time, explaining that the student is counted late if he enters ten minutes after the start of the class, while he is recorded as absent if he leaves the class before the end without asking the teacher’s permission.

Documentation of attendance

Through their messages, the administrations confirmed the necessity of opening the camera while monitoring attendance and absence and when participating in the class, to ensure attendance is documented and to enhance direct interaction between students and teachers, which reflects positively on the quality of learning.

Technical problems

Regarding technical problems, schools explained the necessity of immediately reporting them during class time via the class supervisor or technical support, while attaching evidence of the problem such as a screenshot, indicating that no report will be accepted after the end of the school day, and the case will be treated as an unexcused absence in accordance with the approved regulations.

The schools called on students to follow the approved official channels, such as: LMS andTeams Continuously, and not relying on unofficial means to obtain links to classes or study information, to ensure that accurate information is received at the appropriate time.
