The schools confirmed that there are eight reasons that make the smartphone less effective in distance learning, noting that the small size of the screen makes it difficult for students to follow the explanation and read the content clearly.
Interaction with educational activities, such as solving exercises or using electronic platforms, is limited and ineffective.

She added that some educational programs, such as design or programming programs, do not work efficiently on smartphones, which limits students’ ability to carry out the required tasks, in addition to the large number of notifications and applications that lead to distraction during virtual classes.

The departments explained that among the reasons also is the difficulty of uploading files or writing in detail via the phone compared to the computer, in addition to the ease of moving between applications, which may encourage preoccupation with things other than lessons.

The administrations stressed that continuous reliance on mobile phones may lead to a decrease in the level of concentration and achievement among students, calling on parents to provide suitable devices such as computers or tablets during virtual classes.
