“PIL” provides new shipping services linking Jeddah Islamic Port to 13 global destinations


The General Ports Authority announced "Ports" About the expansion of Pacific International Lines (PIL) in its operations at Jeddah Islamic Port through two shipping services "RGS" and"RS2"in a step that strengthens the port’s position as a major logistical hub on The Red Sea, supports the competitiveness of Saudi ports, and contributes to facilitating the movement of global trade and raising the efficiency of operational operations.

The shipping service operates "RGS" It aims to link the Jeddah Islamic Port with 4 regional and international ports, including the ports of Nhava Sheva and Mundra in India, and Djibouti and Berbera in Somalia, all the way to the Jeddah Islamic Port, with a capacity of up to 1,810 standard containers.

It also operates a service "RS2"To connect the Jeddah Islamic Port with 9 regional and international ports, including the ports of Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, and Shekou in China, Singapore, Djibouti, Sokhna in Egypt, and Aqaba in Jordan, all the way to the Jeddah Islamic Port, with a capacity of up to 11,923 standard containers.

This comes within efforts "Ports" To enhance the Kingdom’s ranking in global performance indicators, in a way that supports the National exports, in line with the objectives of the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics Services, to consolidate the Kingdom’s position as a global logistics center, and a hub connecting the three continents.

It is noteworthy that the Jeddah Islamic Port includes 62 multi-purpose berths, a logistics services area for deposits and re-exports, and a direct transport system via trucks to and from the port, in addition to a number of specialized stations and advanced equipment, which include two handling stations. Containers, and a group of berths for marine services, with a capacity of up to 130 million tons.
