Extending the deadline for correcting the conditions of land transport facilities for “goods” activities
General Authority for Transport Regulatory updates included extending some of the deadlines specified for amending the status of road transport facilities for goods transport activities, in a way that enhances operating efficiency and raises the level of compliance in the sector.
The update included extending the deadline included in the mechanism for amending the status of Land transport on roads for heavy freight transport activities, as well as light freight transport activities, until the date of August 27, 2026 AD, allowing establishments to complete correction procedures and comply with approved regulatory requirements.

The update extended to include cases related to amending the vehicle registration type from private transport to public transport in Heavy freight transport, in a step that supports the organization of activity and enhances the efficiency of fleet use within regulatory frameworks.
Within the framework of completing the procedures for amending the status of facilities in light transport activities, it was decided to extend the deadline for amending the status of land transport facilities on the roads to obtain a professional driver’s card, allowing more time for drivers to complete the procedures, meet the regulatory requirements, and ensure their compliance with the approved requirements.
The authority confirmed that these updates come within the framework of developing the regulatory environment for the land transport sector, And raising the level of safety and operational efficiency, which contributes to enhancing the reliability of services and achieving a sustainable balance in the goods transport sector.
