The Qatari Interior calls for a ban on the use of alarm sounds as a telephone ringtone… and legal accountability for violators

The Qatari Ministry of Interior called for the prohibition of playing any video clips or audio recordings that include the sounds of the national alert system notifications, or setting them as a mobile phone ringtone and playing them in councils, public places, or other places, as this may result in intimidating the security people and disrupting public tranquility, within the framework of enhancing public safety and preserving the tranquility of society.
The Ministry stressed, in a statement through its official account on the “X” platform, the importance of being responsible and socially aware, and committing not to misuse the tone of the national alert system, as this behavior is a violation that exposes its perpetrators to legal accountability, pointing out the possibility of reporting these cases by calling the number (999).
