Dubai Police warns of dangerous behavior that threatens the safety of road users

The Dubai Police General Command warned of the reckless traffic behavior committed by some drivers on the roads, stressing that such behavior constitutes a direct threat to the lives of road users, and may lead to serious traffic accidents with serious consequences.
Brigadier Jumaa Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Traffic Department at Dubai Police, explained that recently, a number of videos were monitored that were received from the public, showing drivers carrying out reckless traffic actions and behaviors that almost caused serious accidents, and endangered the lives of drivers and others.
He pointed out that the most dangerous of these behaviors is not giving way to vehicles coming from behind, sudden swerving, clinging to vehicles and not leaving a sufficient safety distance behind vehicles, in addition to some drivers deliberately obstructing other vehicles and forcefully imposing their lanes, in actions that reflect a clear disregard for the law and road safety.
Brigadier General Jumaa bin Suwaidan confirmed that these practices are among the main causes of serious traffic accidents, as they result in a sudden loss of control of the vehicle, and a high probability of successive collisions, leading to serious injuries or deaths, God forbid, in addition to igniting dangerous quarrels that may develop into more reckless behavior on the road.

He stressed that Dubai Police will never tolerate these behaviors, and will take the maximum legal measures against their perpetrators, stressing that traffic safety is a top priority that cannot be tolerated under any circumstances, and that any behavior that puts lives at risk will be dealt with firmly in accordance with the law.
He added that continuing to commit such behaviors not only threatens the lives of drivers, but also exposes other road users to danger, undermines efforts to enhance traffic flow, and negatively affects road security and community safety.
Brigadier General Jumaa bin Suwaidan confirmed that Dubai Police is continuing to intensify field and smart monitoring and deal firmly with dangerous traffic behaviour, calling on drivers to realize the seriousness of their actions and assume their responsibilities.
