Dubai Roads begins carrying out preventive maintenance work on sidewalks with a length of 90,000 square metres

The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai announced the start of implementation of maintenance and rehabilitation works for sidewalks in the Emirate of Dubai, with a total area of 90,000 square meters, in accordance with preventive maintenance plans approved during the year 2026. The implementation of these works comes as a commitment from Dubai Roads to enhance the quality and efficiency of sidewalks, preserve the cultural appearance, sustainability of assets and quality of life in the emirate.
The total area of the sidewalks that were maintained and rehabilitated by the Authority during the year 2025 was about 88 thousand square meters, and the areas covered by the works were distributed among the residential, tourist, commercial, economic, and coastal areas in the Emirate of Dubai.
The sidewalk works that will be implemented include the following: maintenance of pedestrian sidewalk tiles, intersection tiles and service streets for vehicles, and common sidewalk tiles (pedestrian and bicycle paths), in addition to carrying out repair work on sidewalks that have been subjected to cases of subsidence, erosion, breakage, or loss, as a result of misuse or negative impact on environmental factors.
The authority confirms its keenness to continue to provide all safety requirements for the public during the implementation of the works, and to ensure that the safety and smooth flow of pedestrian movement is maintained during the implementation of maintenance and rehabilitation works on sidewalks in the emirate.
