The Qatari Ministry of Education announces the implementation of an extended weekend vacation, starting today, Wednesday, until the end of this week

The Qatari Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced this evening that, in light of the current regional developments and in coordination with the relevant authorities in the country, it has been decided to implement an extended weekend holiday in all academic levels, government schools, educational institutions and nurseries, starting today, Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

The Ministry explained in a statement that this leave will continue until the end of this week, as an alternative to the previously scheduled vacation on April 22 and 23.

The Ministry indicated that this decision comes within the framework of a precautionary approach aimed at preserving the safety of students and all administrative and teaching staff in the educational field.

The Ministry expressed its appreciation for the cooperation of parents and students, appreciating at the same time the sincere efforts and dedication shown by administrative and academic bodies in performing their educational mission.

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education confirmed that it will continue to follow up on all developments in coordination with the competent authorities, stressing that it will provide the educational field and the public with any updates or developments through its approved official channels.
