Abu Dhabi Police arrests 375 people on charges of photographing various sites and circulating and spreading misleading information

ABU DHABI, 8 April / WAM / Abu Dhabi Police announced the arrest of 375 people of different nationalities, on charges of photographing various websites and circulating and publishing misleading information on social media platforms related to current events, and referring them to the Public Prosecution to take legal measures against them in accordance with the legislation in force.
It affirmed its commitment to enhancing security and safety in cooperation with the relevant authorities at the emirate level, stressing that these practices are a clear violation of the laws and regulations in force in the country, which aim to protect society and maintain its security and stability.
Abu Dhabi Police confirmed that, despite the warnings and warnings issued in this regard, it was observed that some people violated the instructions, stressing that the competent authorities will not hesitate to take deterrent legal measures against anyone proven to be involved in spreading panic and stirring up public opinion, which is a crime punishable by law.
Abu Dhabi Police called on the public to ensure accuracy and credibility when circulating information, to rely on approved official sources, and not to be led by rumors or re-publish unreliable news.
She noted the importance of community partnership in enhancing public security, noting that community members’ awareness and commitment to the laws contribute significantly to protecting lives and property, and establishing a safe and stable environment for all members of society.
