Al Ain Club renews Ivic’s contract until 2028

Al Ain, April 8 / WAM / Al Ain Club announced the renewal of the contract of its Serbian coach, Vladimir Ivic, for two additional seasons, to continue leading the first team until the end of the 2027-2028 season. The club confirmed in its statement that the renewal of the coach’s contract comes within an integrated sports project based on scientific foundations, technical stability and long-term planning, in a way that enhances the team’s competitive presence locally and continentally, and keeps pace with upcoming benefits.
Ivic expressed his happiness to continue his career with Al Ain, saying: “I thank the Board of Directors of Al Ain Sports Club, headed by Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for the professionalism and providing a stimulating environment, and for the great confidence in the technical staff. We are working according to a clear vision to achieve our ambitions.”
He added: “We always seek to strengthen the team’s strength to emerge with a clear identity and a highly competitive character, with a focus on developing players and enhancing the winning mentality.”
The decision confirms Al Ain Club’s commitment to applying the highest standards of institutional work, which enhances its technical stability and establishes a sustainable competitive future locally and continentally.
The renewal decision was an extension of the strong results achieved by the team under Ivic’s leadership since he took over the job in the middle of last season, as Al Ain tops the ADNOC Professional League table, reaching the final of the His Highness the President’s Cup, in addition to reaching the final of the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup, confirming its competitive presence in various local competitions.
The team equaled the record for the longest series of matches without loss in the history of the ADNOC Professional League, with 28 matches.
Under Ivic’s leadership, Al Ain played 30 matches in various tournaments during the current season, during which they achieved 23 victories and 6 draws, and suffered only one loss, which they compensated for in the first leg in the cup competition, in a clear reflection of the team’s character and ability to respond under pressure.
