China: An agreement between Afghanistan and Pakistan to avoid escalation

The intensity of hostilities escalated significantly in late February when an Afghan ground operation was followed by Pakistani air strikes, prompting Islamabad to announce the start of "Open war" Between the two countries.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said on Wednesday "Representatives of China, Afghanistan and Pakistan held informal meetings over a week in Urumqi, Xinjiang, from April 1 to 7.".
She indicated that Afghanistan and Pakistan announced "Their commitment to resolving their differences as soon as possible and returning bilateral relations to normal, and agreeing not to take any steps that would lead to escalation or complexity of the situation.".
