The opening of the first phase of the “Sense of Dreams” exhibition at the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi tomorrow

ABU DHABI, 8th April, 2017 (WAM) – The Cultural Foundation, affiliated with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, announced the opening of the first phase of the “Sense of Dreams” exhibition, a prominent solo exhibition by the artist Shezad Daoud, tomorrow and will continue until next September 20, under the supervision of curator Jessica Sirasi.
The exhibition brings together more than 15 years of David’s artwork, across multiple media including paintings, sculptures, large-scale film installations, and interactive virtual reality experiences.
The exhibition departs from two main paths: modern architecture and ecology, and explores alternative histories and futures through a dialogue that brings together non-Western traditions and contemporary practices.
The opening phase of the exhibition presents a carefully selected group of artworks, highlighting the features of Daoud’s artistic experience, most notably “A Night in the Garden of Love (Digital Seed Banks) 2023,” while witnessing the highly anticipated premiere of the ninth and tenth concluding episodes of the pivotal ten-part “Leviathan Cycle” film series by artist Shezad Daoud.
These two new episodes were developed in close cooperation with an elite group of oceanographers, biologists and neurologists, and are based on scientific research. The tenth episode was jointly commissioned by the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation.
In conjunction with the exhibition, the Cultural Foundation presents a two-week public program, carefully designed to enhance and expand the community’s interaction with Daoud’s artistic themes, through interactive applied workshops.
