Russia declares a temporary truce in Ukraine on the occasion of Easter

The Russian Presidency, the Kremlin, announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin issued directives for a ceasefire in Ukraine during the Easter holiday, calling on the Ukrainian side to take a similar step.
The Kremlin said in a statement that the ceasefire will enter into force next Saturday and Sunday on the occasion of Easter, for humanitarian reasons.
The statement added that Russia expects the Ukrainian side to follow suit and adhere to the truce within the specified period.
