The ceasefire between America and Iran is “extremely fragile” and escalation must be prevented

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Monday that the current ceasefire between the United States and Iran is “very fragile,” and urged the international community to “firmly address any measures that undermine the ceasefire or further escalate the confrontation.”

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Wang made these comments during a phone call with his Pakistani counterpart, Muhammad Ishaq Dar. Wang said the priority was to prevent renewed hostilities and “maintain the momentum of the hard-won ceasefire.”

Wang added that China welcomes Pakistan playing a greater role in resolving the conflict, and that Beijing is also ready to make its contributions.
