Connections in 18 areas in Dubai reduce travel time by 40%

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority has completed a project to connect roads in 18 residential areas in the Emirate of Dubai, with a total length of 13 km, in addition to implementing traffic improvements and providing side parking, sidewalks and lighting poles in those areas.
Hamad Al Shehhi, Director of the Roads Department at the Roads and Traffic Agency at the Roads and Transport Authority, said: “The new links contribute to connecting roads and facilitating the entry and exit of vehicles to residential areas, by paving unpaved roads, thus achieving smoothness and reducing travel time by up to 40% in those locations, and providing a smooth and safe driving experience for road users, thus embodying the Authority’s vision of global leadership for easy and sustainable transportation.”
Al Shehhi added: “The project authority has developed a time plan to implement the connectivity links according to studied stages to cover the 18 residential areas, which are: Al Khawaneej 1, Al Barsha South 1, Nad Shamma, Jumeirah 1, Zabeel 1, Al Rashidiya, Al Muhaisnah 1, Al Barsha 1, Al Hudaiba, Al Quoz 1, Al Quoz 3, Satwa, Al Twar 1, Mirdif, Umm Ramool, Umm Suqeim 1, and Al Mizhar. 1, and Al Mizhar 2”.
The Authority continues its efforts to ensure business continuity, enhance the flow of roads, and raise their operational efficiency by implementing rapid traffic solutions and improvements to increase the capacity of vehicle movement and achieve traffic flow in the road network in the Emirate of Dubai.
