The Emir of Qatar and the US President discuss by phone ways to reduce escalation and stabilize energy markets

His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and US President Donald Trump discussed by telephone developments in the regional and international situation, in light of the accelerating escalation taking place in the region, especially related to the repercussions of the recent tensions on the security of international navigation and the stability of energy markets and global supply chains.

The Qatar News Agency reported that the Emir of Qatar stressed, during a phone call he received from President Trump, the importance of intensifying international efforts to spare the region from further escalation, and adopting diplomatic means as the main way to address crises, in a way that preserves the security and stability of the region and the world.

For his part, the US President stressed the United States’ keenness to coordinate with the State of Qatar on various issues, especially with regard to energy security and the stability of global markets.
