Fake links in search engines are a gateway to electronic fraud

Abu Dhabi Police called on community members to be careful when using search engines, and not to be led by fake links related to consumer protection or other government agencies that may appear in search results, stressing the necessity of relying on official and approved applications and websites of government and private agencies when requesting services and information or making purchases, because this has an important role in preventing electronic fraud.

She confirmed that fraudsters exploit misleading links to deceive users and steal their personal and banking data in a professional manner by luring the victim, calling for verifying the authenticity of the links and their source before entering any sensitive information.
