We will reach an agreement with Iran within a day or two

US President Donald Trump said in an interview with News 12 that he expects the United States and Iran to meet over the weekend to reach an agreement to end the war.
US President Donald Trump also said, “American and Iranian negotiators will likely meet this week,” expressing his expectation of reaching a final agreement “to end the war,” according to the Axios website. He continued, “The Iranians want to meet. They want to conclude an agreement. I think a meeting will most likely be held during the weekend. I think we will reach an agreement within the next day or two.”
The website noted that Trump had “at least one direct call with an Iranian official in recent days,” noting that his position reflects “clear optimism” about the course of the talks. According to what multiple US officials and sources familiar with the negotiations told the website, “significant progress” has been made, and that the United States and Iran are “now close to developing a three-page peace plan,” but there are still “lingering gaps on critical issues.”
