The war may resume in the coming days if a breakthrough is not achieved

A high-ranking American official told Axios on Saturday that if a breakthrough is not achieved soon, the war may resume in the coming days. The official added that US President Donald Trump held a meeting in the White House Situations Room, today, Saturday, to discuss the renewed crisis over the Strait of Hormuz and negotiations with Iran.
The Situation Room meeting was attended by Vice President J.D. Vance, who is expected to participate in the next round of negotiations with Iran – Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Treasury Secretary Scott Bescent.
White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, White House envoy Steve Witkoff, CIA Director John Ratliff and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Kaine also attended, the official said.
This statement comes at a time when the situation between America and Iran has reached a critical point, as the ceasefire is expected to end within three days, and no final date has been set for a new meeting between American and Iranian negotiators.
