Reopening the airspace at Kuwait Airport starting today

The Chairman of the Kuwaiti General Authority of Civil Aviation, Sheikh Engineer Hamoud Mubarak Hamoud Al-Sabah, announced the reopening of the airspace at Kuwait International Airport, starting today, Thursday, after air traffic stopped “temporarily and precautionarily” since last February 28 due to the situation in the region.
Sheikh Al-Sabah said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that this step comes in coordination with the relevant and international authorities to ensure the return of operation in accordance with the highest standards of safety and security.
He added that this step “comes within a deliberate phased plan to gradually resume air traffic in preparation for the full operation of the airport during the coming period.”
He explained that (Civil Aviation) had completed inspecting the damage caused to some airport facilities as a result of the sinful Iranian attack, its agents, and its affiliated armed factions, indicating that the technical teams had begun maintenance and repair work for devices, operational equipment, and infrastructure to ensure full readiness.
He stated that “operation in its first phase will include specific stations according to operational priorities that ensure the safety of operations, with continued evaluation of each stage before moving to broader stages.”
