The Foreign Ministers of the UAE, Jordan, Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Qatar condemn the settlers’ storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Foreign Ministers of the UAE, Jordan, Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Qatar condemned the repeated violations of the historical and legal status quo in the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem by the Israeli occupation authorities, in particular the ongoing incursions into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque (Al-Haram Al-Sharif) by Israeli settlers and extremist ministers under the protection of the Israeli police, as well as the raising of the Israeli flag inside its courtyards.
The Ministers reaffirmed that these provocative actions in the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque (the Holy Mosque) constitute a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and represent an unacceptable provocation to Muslims around the world, and a blatant violation of the sanctity of the Holy City.
The ministers affirmed their categorical rejection of any attempts aimed at changing the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian sanctities, and stressed the need to preserve it, while acknowledging the special role of the historic Hashemite custodianship in this regard. The ministers also reaffirmed that the entire area of ​​the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Aqsa Mosque, amounting to 144 dunums, is a pure place of worship for Muslims alone, and that the Jerusalem Endowments Administration and the Affairs of the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, affiliated with the Jordanian Ministry of Endowments, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sanctities, is the legal body with exclusive jurisdiction to manage the affairs of the mosque and regulate entry to it.
The Ministers also condemned all illegal settlement activities, including Israel’s decision to approve more than 30 new settlements, which is a flagrant violation of international law, including UN Security Council resolutions and the 2024 Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice.
The Ministers also condemned the escalation of settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including recent attacks on Palestinian schools and children, and demanded that those responsible be held accountable. They stressed that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian land, affirming their absolute rejection of any attempts to annex it or displace the Palestinian people.
The ministers stressed that these measures represent a direct and systematic attack on the viability of the Palestinian state and on the implementation of the two-state solution. They also fuel tensions, undermine peace efforts, and hinder ongoing initiatives aimed at reducing escalation and restoring stability.
The ministers renewed their call on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities, oblige Israel to stop its dangerous escalation in the occupied West Bank, and put an end to its illegal practices.
The ministers called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and take clear and decisive steps to stop these violations, and to intensify all regional and international efforts to push towards a political solution that achieves comprehensive peace on the basis of the two-state solution. The ministers also renewed their firm support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, first and foremost their right to self-determination and the embodiment of their independent state along the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
