Etihad Airways strengthens its network of American destinations by increasing its flights to Chicago and Charlotte

Etihad Airways announced the acceleration of its growth in the United States, with the increase of its flights between Abu Dhabi and Chicago, from one daily flight, to two flights daily, and the increase in the number of flights between Abu Dhabi and Charlotte, starting from June 15, until September 8, to become a daily flight compared to four flights per week, based on the strong performance it witnessed after the launch of its services to that destination on March 20, 2026.

These improvements significantly expand Etihad Airways’ presence in the United States, enhancing connectivity between North America and the fast-growing markets of India and the Asia-Pacific region, while improving access to the US domestic flight network via partner airlines.

The expanded schedule provides passengers with greater flexibility and smoother connections from Chicago and Charlotte to major cities across the United States, and to other destinations across Etihad Airways’ global network.

The two routes will be operated on Etihad Airways’ Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, which has 32 seats in business class and 271 seats in economy class.

Etihad Airways stated that Chicago remains one of the most important gateways for Etihad Airways in North America, and increasing the number of flights to two daily flights will contribute to enhancing air connectivity and providing wider options than single-stop flights via Abu Dhabi to destinations within the carrier’s network, which includes 11 gateways in India in addition to major destinations in the Asia-Pacific region such as Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Manila.

Etihad Airways Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, Eric Dee, said: “Chicago remains a key pillar of our network in the United States, and increasing the number of daily flights to two reflects the outstanding performance of this route.”
