Trump evacuated after gunshots were heard during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner

Secret Service agents evacuated US President Donald Trump from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington on Saturday evening while loud gunshots were heard, according to eyewitnesses and Agence France-Presse reporters.

The guests who were attending the dinner party rushed to take cover under the tables after hearing the sounds of shots, while security men stationed themselves, brandishing their pistols, around the stage where Trump was sitting before he was taken out of the place.

The police cordoned off the Washington Hilton Hotel, which was hosting the party, and helicopters flew overhead. A joint press report, citing the Secret Service, said the shooter was in custody.
