A night-time curfew was imposed in Mali’s capital after the attacks

On Sunday, authorities in Mali announced a nightly curfew in Bamako following coordinated attacks on targets in the capital and other locations.

The regional governor said that the curfew will be implemented between nine in the evening and six in the morning.

Bamako airport was reopened after it was closed due to fighting in the nearby area.

The African Union condemned the armed attacks in various parts of Mali, warning of the threat this poses to civilians and stability, according to the Africa News website on Sunday.

The United Nations noted that “simultaneous complex attacks occurred” in several towns and cities across the country and at the airport in Bamako, the capital of Mali.

Islamist militants and separatists announced that they attacked several sites in the financial capital, Bamako, and other cities yesterday, Saturday, in one of the largest coordinated attacks in the West African country in recent years. The government did not provide a death toll but stated that 16 people were injured in the attacks.

However, the Malian army announced that the situation in the country was under control following the series of attacks that occurred yesterday, Saturday, despite the continued sound of gunfire in the capital, Bamako, and helicopters flying in the air.
