The Head of State and the Mauritanian President discuss strengthening cooperation relations between the two countries and the repercussions of regional developments

Today, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and Mohamed Ould Sheikh Al-Ghazouani, President of the sisterly Islamic Republic of Mauritania, discussed various aspects of cooperation between the two countries and joint work to enhance them, especially in the fields of development, economics, and renewable energy, in a way that serves development priorities and their mutual interests and contributes to achieving growth and prosperity for their peoples.

This came during his reception of His Highness, the Mauritanian President, who is on a working visit to the country.

During the meeting, His Highness the Head of State and President Mohamed Ould Sheikh Al-Ghazouani affirmed their mutual keenness to continue pushing Emirati-Mauritanian relations to broader horizons at various levels in a way that enhances development paths and sustainable prosperity in the two countries.

The two sides also reviewed a number of international and regional issues and topics of common interest, most notably the developments taking place in the Middle East region and their dangerous repercussions on regional and international security and peace, in addition to their effects on the security of international navigation, energy supplies and the global economy.

The meeting touched on the Iranian terrorist attacks that targeted civilians and civilian facilities and infrastructure in the UAE and countries of the region. The Mauritanian President renewed his condemnation of the attacks that constitute a violation of the sovereignty of these countries and international norms and undermine regional security and stability, praising the efficiency of the resolute measures taken by the state and the success of its security system in preserving its sovereignty and stability and ensuring the safety of its citizens and residents.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Special Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, and a number of sheikhs and officials.
