Furjan Dubai organizes the third event of the “Little Freej Merchant” initiative on Marsa Boulevard

The Furjan Dubai Foundation, in partnership with Dubai Municipality and the Department of Economy and Tourism, and in cooperation with the “From Us and Us” initiative and “Marsa Boulevard,” organized the third event of the “Little Freej Merchant” initiative in the Marsa Boulevard area, over the course of two days, as part of joint efforts to enhance the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship among children, and provide interactive community platforms that support the development of their practical skills.
The initiative comes in line with the vision of the Emirate of Dubai to build a diversified economy based on knowledge and creativity, by supporting emerging talents and instilling the concepts of innovation and self-employment among new generations.
20 diverse projects
The event witnessed the participation of 20 diverse projects for 60 children, where the participants showcased their products and ideas to the audience, which varied between food and beverages, candy, clothing, accessories, plants, and the design of sports club logos, within an interactive experience that allows them to delve into business in a simplified manner, in addition to organizing a group of competitions and accompanying workshops, in a way that enhances their creative abilities and stimulates their spirit of positive competition.
The “Little Freej Merchant” initiative seeks to consolidate the concepts of responsibility and entrepreneurship in children, by involving them in managing their small projects and interacting directly with visitors. This gives them a realistic experience in the business world away from traditional educational frameworks, within an inspiring festive atmosphere that encourages innovation, supports building the child’s personality and developing his self-confidence.
An incubating environment
In this context, Alia Al Shamlan, Director of Furjan Dubai, confirmed that the organization is continuing to organize the “Little Freezer Trader” events in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” which reflects its commitment to supporting the promising energies of children, and enhancing their presence in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship, by providing an incubating environment that contributes to refining their skills and developing their abilities.
She added that holding the third edition of the initiative on Marsa Boulevard aims to attract new children and encourage them to present their own projects, thus expanding the participant base and giving the opportunity for more emerging talents to emerge, noting that the initiative represents an important platform to experience commercial work in a simplified and practical manner that enhances children’s awareness of the basics of the market.
Alia Al-Shamlan explained that Furjan Dubai is working to organize the initiative in various neighborhoods of the emirate, with the participation of the children of each neighborhood, which contributes to strengthening the culture of entrepreneurship at the local community level, and preparing a new generation that possesses the necessary skills to move forward in supporting Dubai’s economy, and consolidating its position as a global center for innovation and entrepreneurship.
