What brings Sinem Unsal and Ozan Akbaba together again?

The two Turkish stars: Sinem Unsal and Ozan Akbaba, are still reaping the fruits of the tremendous success of their famous series “The Distant City,” which is achieving high views and has a large audience following, for the third season in a row.

Aside from the non-stop advertisements, the news that spreads about them every day, and the Turkish, Arab and international press following them; The two stars: Unsal and Akbaba, are on the verge of a new partnership of a different kind.

In details, it was officially announced that the second season of the short series “The Story of Istanbul Go Türkiye” will be shown, starring: Ozan Akbaba and Sinem Unsal.

The work is presented in a completely different format, as it is of the type of very short series, the duration of one episode of which ranges between 3-4 minutes maximum. It is presented with quick glances and flashes, and often aims to promote tourism in areas in the Turkish city of Istanbul in an attractive cinematic way, through dramatic stories starring famous stars all over the world.

This is not the first time that Akbaba and Unsal have starred in this series. They had previously presented a season of it, in 2024, knowing that the makers assign the championship in each season to different stars, the most famous of whom were: Engin Akyurek, Afra Saraçoğlu, Meryem Uzerli, Yasmin Kaye Allen, and Elida Akdoan.

The story of the previous series of this series, in which the stars of “The Distant City” appeared, revolved around the duo’s choice to film a movie in Istanbul, where they work together, and the relationship between them begins as part of acting, but their feelings are mixed between acting and reality.

After filming ends, their feelings for each other continue, but the fate of their relationship remains open, and the end of the series is epic because of a true love story between them.

As usual, the series focuses on depicting attractive areas inside Türkiye, such as the Bosphorus Strait and other tourist sites in Istanbul.

In a related context, Turkish news sites reported that the wages of the duo, Akbaba and Unsal, had increased significantly. In the first season, they received 800 thousand Turkish liras, and the salary rose in the second season to approximately one and a half million Turkish liras, while the duo received approximately 2.5 million Turkish liras for the third season. This indicates the extent of their success, and the success of the series, which is not yet known whether it will continue in a fourth season or not, but the great success it is still achieving indicates that its makers will most likely go to film a new season of it.

The story of the series “The Distant City”, inspired by the Lebanese-Syrian series “Al-Haiba”, revolves around a girl from a city living abroad, who is forced by circumstances to return to a remote Turkish village, to find herself in the middle of a strong family, full of secrets and old conflicts between families. She enters into great conflicts and sudden challenges, which bring her into an unexpected love story.
