The Japanese Prime Minister opposes the Japanese call to rationalize energy consumption

On Monday, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaishi took a position opposing the call on the Japanese to reduce energy consumption due to the uncertainty over supplies as a result of the war in the Middle East, stressing the need for continued economic activity.

Takaishi’s statements in Parliament, today, Monday, came at a time when the actual closure of the Strait of Hormuz during the US-Israeli war against Iran, which began on February 28, led to calls from other Asian countries with a shortage of resources to reduce fuel consumption, according to what was reported by the Japanese Kyodo News Agency.
