The National Agricultural Center concludes a new partnership to empower farmers and accelerate the arrival of national products to markets
Al Ain, April 27 / WAM / Her Excellency Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahhak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Agricultural Centre, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the National Agricultural Center and the “NRTC” group, affiliated with the Food Holding Company and one of the companies of the International Holding Company, during the activities of the UAE Agricultural Conference and Exhibition 2026, which concluded yesterday in Al Ain, in a step that strengthens the food security system in the country.
The memorandum aims to develop local agricultural value chains and accelerate the integration of national products into the main retail and distribution networks, in a way that supports the state’s directions in enhancing local production and the flexibility of supply chains and expanding partnerships between the government and private sectors within a long-term strategy to achieve food security.
The memorandum of understanding includes areas of cooperation that include developing dedicated spaces to display approved local products, creating simplified frameworks for procurement, logistics and distribution, in addition to implementing training programs to improve classification, packaging and quality standards, as well as launching joint marketing campaigns within the Sustainable Product Initiative.
Sultan Salem Al Shamsi said that the partnership represents a strategic milestone in the country’s journey towards enhancing food security by linking local producers to distribution networks in a way that enhances competitiveness and sustainability.
For his part, Mohammed Al-Rifai stressed that the agreement is an extension of the group’s strategy in building an integrated agricultural supply chain that supports local farmers and contributes to achieving long-term national goals in food security.
The agreement contributes to building a sustainable national agricultural system based on empowering farmers, adopting modern technologies, and enhancing the access of products to markets to keep pace with growing demand and enhance the economic sustainability of the agricultural sector in countries.
