Launching Uber services in Ras Al Khaimah

The Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority signed a cooperation agreement with Uber to launch smart reservation services for taxis and limousines through the Uber application in the emirate.
The agreement aims to enhance the transportation system in Ras Al Khaimah and provide smart and diverse transportation options, by providing the possibility of booking the authority’s taxis and limousines through the “Uber” application.
The agreement was signed by the Director General of the Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority, Engineer Ismail Hassan Al Balushi, and the General Manager of Uber in the UAE, Tala Nsouli, at the authority’s headquarters, in the presence of a number of department directors and officials from both sides.
Under this agreement, customers will be able to request taxi and limousine trips easily and reliably via the Uber application, which is available 24 hours a day, with the click of a button. Passengers will be able to pay the trip fare securely and digitally, which will contribute to simplifying the experience and enhancing the ease of daily transportation.
Al Balushi explained that signing this agreement comes within the Authority’s ongoing efforts to develop transportation services and adopt smart digital solutions that improve customer experience and keep pace with the vision of the Ras Al Khaimah government towards a smart and sustainable transportation system. He pointed out that operating taxis and limousines via the Uber application represents a qualitative shift in the transportation sector in the emirate, by enhancing operational efficiency and supporting the integration of the smart transportation system.
He added that this partnership provides a wider segment of visitors, tourists and residents with convenient and easy transportation options through smart platforms, especially with the continued growth in the number of visitors to the emirate annually. He also confirmed that Ras Al Khaimah is among the few cities in the Middle East that operate taxis via the Uber application, which reflects the authority’s commitment to adopting the latest innovations in the transportation sector.
