Poll: Gold prices will continue to rise in 2026 despite the setback in the Iran war

A survey conducted by the agency showed "Reuters" Analysts raised their annual expectations for gold prices, suggesting that the yellow metal will resume its rise once tensions in the Middle East subside and inflation fears subside.

The survey, which included 31 analysts and traders over the past three weeks, showed average expectations for the price of Goldat $4,916 an ounce in 2026, the highest annual forecast in surveys "Reuters" Since 2012.

After a rapid record rise that brought gold prices to about $5,600 an ounce at the end of January, prices have fallen by about 11% since the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran in late February, as investors rushed to increase their liquidity by selling gold.

Rona O’Connell, an analyst at the company, said: "Stone x": "If the war can be ended through diplomatic means, we will likely see a recovery in gold prices, and there are underlying supportive factors that may keep them stable. But the $5,500 level was previously very high, and it is likely to return to that level."

The metal’s role as an inflation hedge is currently being challenged by the major central banks’ shift to tightening monetary policy (fixing or raising interest rates) in the face of rising prices Energy.

Analysts believe that the factors driving gold, including strong buying by Central banks, concerns about the independence of the Federal Reserve, rising US debt, and currency depreciation will continue to support this safe-haven asset in 2026.
