The Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Parliament discussed strengthening bilateral partnership and cooperation

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, discussed today with a delegation from the European Parliament headed by Reinhold Lopatka the partnership and strengthening bilateral cooperation between the Council and Parliament in a way that serves the interests of both sides and contributes to supporting Gulf-European relations.
During the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the best ways and proposals to strengthen relations between the two sides. The meeting also touched on developments in the region, where members of the European parliamentary delegation renewed their support for the GCC countries in the face of the recent Iranian attacks on them.
The Secretary-General said that the GCC countries seek to strengthen their relations with their regional and international partners in a way that serves development, prosperity, security and stability.
He added that the visit of the European Parliamentary delegation to the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council strengthens Gulf-European relations and opens broader areas of cooperation between them.
