An agreement between EDGE and Etihad Airways to unify air cargo operations

Abu Dhabi, 5 May / WAM / The Edge Group announced the signing of a global air transport services agreement with Etihad Airways, during the “Made in the UAE 2026” platform, with the aim of unifying its air freight operations under the umbrella of the national carrier of the UAE.
Under the agreement, the Edge Group will meet its needs and the needs of its 35 subsidiaries, relying on Etihad Airways’ air cargo services.
This step comes within EDGE’s strategy to strengthen local partnerships across its supply chains and operational operations, in a way that supports investment in national capabilities and enhances reliance on them, especially with the growth of the group’s business.
Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director and CEO of EDGE Group, said on this occasion that this agreement reflects the group’s commitment to building local partnerships of sustainable value for the UAE, explaining that cooperation with Etihad Airways contributes to raising the efficiency of EDGE operations and supporting the growth of an integrated national industrial system.
For his part, Antonaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, said that Etihad Cargo provides a reliable and safe operational structure with a global reach, capable of supporting the requirements of advanced industrial and defense operations, and also contributes to strengthening national capabilities through local partnerships.
He explained that the unification of shipping operations between Edge and Etihad Cargo reflects a high level of confidence in the national carrier’s ability to meet complex, high-value operational requirements within precise time frames.
