The Head of State and the Prime Minister of Greece discuss strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and regional developments

Today, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, received Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Prime Minister of the Greek Republic, who is on a working visit to the UAE.

During the meeting, His Highness and the Greek Prime Minister discussed various cooperation paths, especially in the fields of economic, investment, technology, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and sustainability, in addition to infrastructure, culture, and other fields within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership that brings together the two countries.

The meeting also touched on the celebration this year of the fiftieth anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the UAE and the Republic of Greece.

The two sides discussed developments in the situation in the Middle East and its dangerous repercussions on regional and global security and stability.

Mitsotakis renewed Greece’s condemnation of the Iranian terrorist attacks that targeted civilians and civilian installations and infrastructure in the UAE and countries of the region, as they represent a violation of the sovereignty of countries and international laws and norms.

His Highness the President and Mitsotakis also witnessed the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the governments of the UAE and Greece in the fields of artificial intelligence and technology.

The memorandum was signed by Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, on the part of the UAE, and on the Greek side, Giorgos Gerapetris, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, His Highness Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President. The Presidential Office for Special Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, a number of ministers and officials, and the delegation accompanying the guest Prime Minister.
