Al Shamsi and Al Khamiri lead the Al Ain Chess Classic Festival
Al Ain, May 6 / WAM / Players Ahmed Younis Al Khamiri and Ahmed Saeed Al Shamsi topped the 2026 Classic Chess Festival competitions, achieving four points each, following the conclusion of the activities of the fourth round of the tournament organized by the Al Ain Chess and Mind Games Club.
The festival, whose competitions began last Saturday at the club’s headquarters, witnessed the presentation of remarkable artistic levels with the participation of 57 male and female players representing various nationalities and age groups from the club and its affiliated academy, competing over seven rounds held according to the Swiss system.
The competitions are scheduled to continue with the fifth and sixth rounds next Saturday, and the tournament will conclude with the seventh and final round competitions on the following Sunday, in preparation for the official announcement of the final results and the crowning of the first-place finishers.
