A goal tournament in Sharjah.. UAE League “Ainawi” for the 15th time

The Al Ain team officially won the Professional Football League title for the 15th time in its history, and the sixth in the professional era, by defeating its host, Sharjah, today, Wednesday, by five goals to none, in the meeting that brought the two teams together in the King’s Castle, within the 24th round of the tournament.
The coronation came after a distinguished season by Al Ain, as it achieved its 19th victory in the league this season against five draws, without suffering any loss, raising its score to 62 points at the top of the ranking table, 6 points ahead of Shabab Al Ahly, its closest pursuer, two rounds before the end of the league, while Sharjah’s score froze at 25 points in tenth place, needing one point to officially ensure its survival in the professional league.
Al Ain decided the confrontation early, as it only took 10 minutes to open the scoring through Abdelkarim Traoré, who took advantage of a perfect cross from Matthias Blasius, and headed it into the net, giving his team the advantage.
Al Ain continued its offensive superiority, adding the second goal after another cross, which resulted in an own goal scored by Sharjah player Majed Hassan, by mistake, in his own net, after he tried to clear the ball before Laba Kodjo arrived, but it bounced off him and settled to the right of the goalkeeper (15).
In the second half, Eric Menezes ended things completely in favor of Al Ain, by scoring the third goal after a long pass from Rami Rabie, which defender Khaled Al Dhanhani did not evaluate well, and put it into the goal (51).
It was Sufyan Rahimi’s turn to make his mark in the Sharjah goal, via a ground shot that landed to the right of the goalkeeper (54).
Rami Rabia concluded his team’s goals after receiving Blasius’ cross from a corner, pounced on it before Laba Kodjo and put it into the net (63).
Al Ain can now achieve the league and cup double when it meets Al Jazira in the tournament final on the 22nd of this month at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium.
After the end of the match, Al Ain fans who accompanied their team to the smiling emirate celebrated the title, amid wide participation of players who exchanged celebrations with the fans.
