The Head of State and the President of Cyprus discuss strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and developments in the region

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, received Nikos Christodoulides, President of the Republic of Cyprus, who is on a working visit to the UAE.
During the meeting, His Highness and the Cypriot President discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation paths between the two countries and move them forward, especially in the fields of economy, trade, investment, technology, and renewable energy, in addition to education, culture, tourism, and other vital fields that serve mutual development… within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership that brings together the two countries.
The two sides stressed their mutual keenness to achieve the goals of this partnership in a way that brings growth and prosperity to their people.
The two sides touched on Cyprus’ current presidency of the Council of the European Union and the importance of its role in supporting UAE-European partnership relations.
His Highness the President of the State and the President of Cyprus also reviewed the developments of the situation in the Middle East region and their dangerous repercussions on regional and global security and stability, and exchanged views on them.
Nikos Christou Doulides renewed Cyprus’ condemnation of the Iranian attacks against civilians and civilian installations and infrastructure in the UAE and countries of the region, as they represent a violation of the sovereignty of states, international law and the United Nations Charter, and a threat to regional security and stability.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Office for Special Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, and a number of ministers and officials.
