Dubai Roads opens a bridge from Al Bidda to Sheikh Rashid and Al Mustaqbal Streets

The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai opened a new 500-meter bridge within the Trade Center Roundabout Development Project, as part of its ongoing efforts to develop infrastructure and enhance the efficiency of the road network in the Emirate of Dubai. The bridge aims to facilitate movement out of the Al Bidaa area towards 2nd December Street, all the way to Sheikh Rashid and Al Mustaqbal Streets, thus contributing to accommodating the growing traffic density in the area and in line with the vision of the wise leadership to make Dubai the best city for living and transportation.
The length of the new bridge is about 500 metres, in addition to three bridges that were opened as part of the mall roundabout development project. The bridge consists of one lane with a capacity of up to 1,200 vehicles per hour. The new bridge contributes to reducing the journey time from eight minutes to two minutes, which enhances the flow of traffic for those coming from the Al Bidaa area towards Sheikh Rashid and Al Mustaqbal Streets. The project also includes converting the traffic light intersection on 2nd December Street (towards Sheikh Rashid and Al Mustaqbal Streets) into a free intersection, which enhances the flow of movement and increases the efficiency of movement around the area.
The Trade Center Roundabout development project includes the implementation of six bridges with a length of 5,000 metres, to provide free traffic movement in several directions, as the Authority previously opened a bridge linking Sheikh Zayed Road to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street in February 2026, and two bridges were opened in December 2025, serving traffic heading from 2nd December Street, towards Sheikh Rashid Street, and Majlis Street leading to Al Mustaqbal Street, with a capacity of two lanes in both directions, and the total length of the two bridges is 2,000 meters, and their capacity is estimated at about 6,000 vehicles per hour. The project also includes the implementation of two bridges with a capacity of two lanes in both directions, from Al Majlis Street and Sheikh Rashid Street to 2nd December Street, to connect Al Mostaqbal Street with 2nd December Street. The total length of the two bridges is 2,000 meters, and their capacity is estimated at about 6,000 vehicles per hour. The project also includes converting the current mall roundabout into a surface intersection controlled by signals. Optical.
This step reflects the authority’s commitment to developing the infrastructure and enhancing the efficiency of the road network in the Emirate of Dubai, to meet the needs of population and urban expansion in various regions of the emirate, specifically in the Trade Center area, which is of strategic importance due to its vital location near Sheikh Zayed Road, one of the most important traffic axes in Dubai, as it contributes to improving connectivity with this main artery, distributing traffic more efficiently, and reducing congestion in the surrounding areas.
