The ship infected with the Hanta virus heads to the Netherlands after all its passengers were evacuated

The Spanish authorities confirmed that the Hondius ship, on which Hanta virus infections were detected, left the Canary Islands heading to the Netherlands.
The ship left the port of Granada on the island of Tenerife on Monday, after all passengers were evacuated to their countries to undergo quarantine, heading to the city of Rotterdam, where comprehensive disinfection operations are scheduled to be carried out.
It is noteworthy that 7 confirmed cases of Hanta virus, which is transmitted through rodents, were detected on board the ship, in addition to two suspected cases, while 3 passengers died during the voyage from the disease.
The World Health Organization has confirmed that the risk of a global outbreak of the Hanta virus is very limited, and that it does not constitute the beginning of a new pandemic and does not spread in the same way as the Corona virus.
