Dubai Roads enhances its digital operations with artificial intelligence

The Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, Mattar Al Tayer, confirmed that the Authority is continuing to develop its digital and technical system, in line with the directives of the wise leadership in consolidating Dubai’s position as the smartest city in the world, by adopting the latest digital technologies and artificial intelligence applications, to enhance the efficiency of operational processes, and raise the readiness of systems and services.

This came during his inspection of the Unified Technical Operations Center (TOCC), which is an integrated center for managing and monitoring technical services and systems at the authority level, with the aim of ensuring business continuity and raising the efficiency of operational processes around the clock. Mattar Al Tayer said, in a press statement yesterday, that digital transformation has become an integrated system that relies on intelligent data analysis, proactive prediction of operational challenges, and raising the efficiency of response and decision-making, ensuring business continuity and enhancing the flexibility of operational processes in the various sectors and services provided by the authority, indicating that the authority continues to develop an advanced technical infrastructure. It supports Dubai’s trends towards building a smart and sustainable city, relying on modern technologies and artificial intelligence in managing services and infrastructure.

Al Tayer was briefed on the operational work system and mechanisms for monitoring systems and technical services around the clock, in addition to the smart solutions used in managing digital infrastructure, applications and databases, in accordance with the highest standards of readiness, cybersecurity and operational efficiency.

The center works according to an integrated operational model that ensures the integration of technical infrastructure, applications and databases and their management in a reliable and secure manner, thus enhancing the sustainability of digital services and the speed of response to various operational requirements, in addition to supporting digital transformation processes and expanding the use of smart solutions and artificial intelligence in managing technical operations.

The center includes a number of specialized operational units, including the Information Technology Support Center, which provides integrated technical support around the clock, and the Operations Control Center concerned with proactive monitoring of systems performance and early detection of faults and operational challenges, in addition to the technical systems operation teams responsible for managing and operating the systems and ensuring their readiness on an ongoing basis.

The center relies on an advanced technical structure that allows operating and monitoring more than 200 server hosting units in data centers, and dealing with more than 500 support requests daily within an operating system that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The center witnessed comprehensive development work that contributed to modernizing its operational environment and raising the efficiency of its facilities and technical equipment, in line with international best practices in managing and operating data centers. This culminated in it obtaining the global Tier III classification, which is considered one of the most prominent international standards approved to measure the readiness and reliability of data centers and the continuity of their operational services.
