Flydubai adds Benghazi to its network of African destinations

Flydubai announced the launch of direct flights to Benghazi, Libya, becoming the first national airline to operate direct flights between Dubai and Benghazi Benina International Airport. Flights will operate starting June 17 from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport, at a rate of three flights per week.
This new route will enhance air connectivity between the UAE and Libya, and will also provide passengers from Benghazi with easy access to flydubai’s growing network via the Dubai Aviation Centre.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of Flydubai, said: “The launch of our new flights to Libya represents an important step within our network expansion strategy, and confirms our commitment to opening new markets that were not previously served by flights and enhancing air connectivity between countries. With the addition of Benghazi, flydubai’s network in East and North Africa expands to include 13 destinations, reflecting the company’s commitment to opening new markets that have not been adequately served, and supporting trade, tourism and cultural exchange through direct flights to Dubai. The carrier recently began operations in Nairobi, its second destination in Kenya after Mombasa, and launched seasonal flights to El Alamein in Egypt, starting in June during the busy summer season.

During the past weeks, Flydubai has resumed its flights to most of its destinations in its network, including the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the Middle East, in addition to selected destinations in Europe and Russia. The carrier will resume its flights to its seasonal summer destinations, which include popular destinations such as Bodrum, Dubrovnik, Mykonos, Santorini, Tivat, and others, starting from May 22, 2026. Flydubai also recently announced the launch of its daily flights to Bangkok, its second destination in Thailand after Krabi, starting from July 1, 2026.

These flights will be operated as codeshare flights with Emirates, allowing passengers to more seamlessly benefit from a single ticket, easier baggage check-in, and access to a wide shared network.
Flights will operate three times a week from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport to Benghazi Benina International Airport.
