"Sharjah Central Finance" Enhances financial planning skills for young people

Sharjah, May 14 / WAM / The Sharjah Central Finance Department, represented by the Financial Training Center and the Department’s Youth Council, in cooperation with the Sharjah Youth Council, today organized a specialized training program entitled “Financial Plans… for a Better Life” as part of joint efforts aimed at empowering the emirate’s youth with basic financial skills and enhancing their awareness of the importance of financial planning and smart management of resources.

Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Central Finance Department, said that this program embodies the department’s commitment to enhancing financial culture among young people by providing them with knowledge and practical tools that enable them to manage their resources efficiently and build more aware and balanced financial decisions. He explained that cooperation with the Sharjah Youth Council and the Department’s Youth Council reflects the keenness to unify efforts to launch qualitative initiatives that respond to the aspirations of young people and contribute to preparing a generation capable of keeping pace with economic changes and dealing with them flexibly and efficiently.

He added that investing in the financial awareness of young people represents an investment in a more sustainable future by building individuals capable of achieving a balance between the requirements of present life and planning for the future in a way that supports the comprehensive development process in the Emirate of Sharjah.

For her part, Moza Al Ketbi, member of the Sharjah Youth Council, stressed that enhancing financial culture among young people is one of the important axes in preparing a generation that is more aware and prepared for the future, noting the importance of developing their financial planning, saving and investment skills.

She added that the Sharjah Youth Council is keen to cooperate with the institutional councils in the emirate, including the Central Finance Department Youth Council, to provide interactive initiatives and programs that contribute to spreading awareness and financial culture among young people and developing their skills in managing resources and planning for the future in keeping with the trends of the national economy and the National Youth Agenda 2031 and supporting their quality of life and financial stability.

During its sessions, the program presented a group of specialized topics, where Nasser Kaswani, Director of the Financial Training Center, discussed the concepts of public finance in the Sharjah Government and reviewed the most prominent areas of specialized financial affairs, including accounts, budgets, purchases, taxes, financial policies, and public debt.

The program included a financial awareness session presented by Fatima Al Shamsi, the center’s lecturer, focusing on the concepts of financial well-being, spending management, and preparing personal budgets, in addition to providing applied models and realistic scenarios that help participants adopt more sustainable financial practices.

The program reviewed the mechanisms of international investment through the foundations and factors of investing in stocks, and the concepts of financial saving, under the supervision of Marwan Al-Mazmi, Chairman of the Department’s Youth Council, which contributed to enhancing participants’ awareness of investment opportunities and tools.
