"Investopia Europe – Milan" It will witness the organization of 11 discussion sessions and 3 round tables to explore global investment trends

Milan, 16 May / WAM / The fourth edition of the “Investobia Europe – Milan” dialogues witnessed the holding of 11 dialogue sessions and 3 round table meetings, with the aim of anticipating modern global investment trends, enhancing opportunities for partnerships between the Emirati and European business communities in the economic, industrial, tourism and financial sectors, and enhancing the levels of distinguished economic partnership between the UAE and Italy, and the movement of capital in light of the current economic and geopolitical changes.

The first session, entitled “Strategic Investments between the UAE, Italy, and Europe in light of the current economic and geopolitical changes,” discussed how to redirect capital in light of the transformations in global supply chains, and the increasing importance of economic and regulatory stability in attracting long-term investments, with a focus on the role of major financial institutions in financing future growth.

The second session, entitled “The UAE and Italy: Harmonizing Industry, Investment and the New Economy,” shed light on the prospects for the growing economic partnership between the UAE and the Republic of Italy, and ways to enhance cooperation in the sectors of the new economy and advanced industries, with the participation of His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, and Co-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Investopia; His Excellency Adolfo Orso, Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy.

The participants stressed the importance of expanding the horizons of economic and investment cooperation between the two countries in the fields of advanced technology, artificial intelligence, energy, digital transformation and sustainable industries, in a way that supports their common directions towards building an economy based on knowledge and innovation. The session also reviewed opportunities to enhance industrial and investment partnerships between the Emirati and Italian business communities.

His Excellency Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al-Hawi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Investment in the UAE and Chairman of Investopia, addressed; His Excellency Valentino Valentini, Deputy Minister of Companies and Made in Italy, during the third session titled “Flexibility, Partnership and Opportunities: Drawing the Next Decade of Investment Relations between the UAE and Italy,” discussed ways to develop bilateral investment relations to more advanced levels, by building flexible cooperation models capable of adapting to global changes, and providing new capabilities that contribute to transforming traditional partnerships into long-term investment platforms that support sustainable growth.

The fourth session, entitled “Sovereign Advanced Industrial and Technological Capabilities: Building Strategic International Partnerships,” touched on the importance of developing national industrial capabilities and enhancing the technological independence of countries, in addition to opportunities to build international partnerships that go beyond traditional trade relations towards joint development of technology and advanced industrial systems, with the participation of His Excellency Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director and CEO of the EDGE Group; His Excellency Matteo Perego di Cremenago, Undersecretary of Defense in the Italian Government.

During the fifth session of the event, entitled “Italy and the Future of Tourism: A New Vision for Growth and Global Cooperation,” His Excellency Gianmarco Mazzi, Italian Minister of Tourism, reviewed the transformations that the global tourism sector is witnessing in light of changing travelers’ expectations, Italy’s vision to enhance the competitiveness of the tourism sector, as well as the opportunities for tourism cooperation between the UAE and Italy in the fields of hospitality, cultural tourism, and luxury tourism.

The sixth session, entitled “Capital Without Borders: Where Are Global Investments Heading?”, shed light on the new landscape of global investment flows, as speakers stressed the importance of prominent new considerations as drivers of capital today in addition to financial returns, including sustainability, supply chain flexibility, regulatory compliance, and economic stability, as key elements in investor decisions. The session also discussed how international companies and institutions are reformulating their investment priorities, in parallel with countries and regions competing to attract capital and directing it towards the sectors most capable of growth, in light of the impact of Increasing exposure to geopolitical variables on the global investment map.

The seventh session, entitled “Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure on a Large Scale: Data Centers, Energy, and the New Geography of Computing,” addressed the rising role of artificial intelligence in reshaping the map of the global digital economy, as well as transformations in global centers of gravity, at a time when Europe seeks to enhance its capabilities in the field of computing and artificial intelligence, while the United Arab Emirates continues to consolidate its position as a leading global center in this vital sector. It also discussed mechanisms for selecting future infrastructure sites, ways to finance it, and the role that partnerships between countries and regions can play in building competitive capabilities on a global scale.

The eighth session, entitled “Powering the Next Economy: The New Energy Equation,” discussed the accelerating development in the global energy mix, including renewable energy, energy storage, nuclear energy, hydrogen, and the modernization of electricity networks, within the framework of a global trend towards a more diversified and sustainable energy system, and enhancing the security of supplies in parallel with the impact of geopolitical variables and their role in redrawing energy flows globally, and what this imposes in accelerating efforts to diversify sources of supply and increasing investments in infrastructure.

The ninth session, entitled “Building Value: Capital, Identity, and the Future of the Real Estate Sector,” shed light on the opportunities for employing capital in the real estate sector, and how partnerships between developers, investors, hospitality operators, and international brands are reshaping the features of the market, in addition to reviewing the elements of building urban destinations capable of competing globally, in light of the participation of an elite group of investors and developers from the Emirates and Italy.

The tenth session, entitled “The Italy-UAE-Africa Platform: From Strategic Partnership to Investment Implementation,” discussed mechanisms for enabling Emirati and Italian investments to expand in African markets, and employing them in building projects that can be financed and implemented, in addition to developing investment platforms that combine infrastructure, technology, and local partnerships. The session, in the presence of Her Excellency Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment of Nigeria, also discussed the most prominent priority opportunities on the continent, and models capable of transforming this path into a sustainable and growthable investment system.

The eleventh and final session of the event, entitled “The True Customer Experience: The New Economy of Luxury Goods,” focused on the ongoing changes taking place in the global luxury sector, the main elements for creating value and enhancing revenues for this vital sector, as well as how luxury brands develop to become integrated systems that combine products, culture, hospitality and society, in addition to reviewing the mechanisms for global expansion through major centers for this industry such as the UAE and Milan, while maintaining the quality and consistency of the experience, as well as examining the most promising investment opportunities in this sector.

His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri participated in a high-level roundtable meeting, with the participation of 23 ministers, senior officials, business leaders and investors from the UAE and Italy, which focused on enhancing the levels of the UAE-Italian economic partnership in the sectors of the new economy, including energy, advanced industries, finance, technology, tourism, and industry, in addition to discussing mechanisms for expanding UAE-Italian partnerships in African markets, in a way that supports the building of sustainable and viable investment projects during the next stage.
